N°2 | 1999 THE SHAPE OF WATER
Part one

Water waterworks and fountains in the 19th and 20th centuries

Ten years since the first issue on drinking fountains, now out of stock, the considerable quantity of material collected by the Italian Museum of Cast Iron has made it necessary to return to the topic and update the research by means of a detailed, wide-ranging study over two issues.

After a historical-sociological introduction on the use of water in past centuries, this first part begins by illustrating a few different types: mask-shaped fountains, wall fountains, stele fountains and temple fountains.
