N°2 | 2001 URBAN SIGNS

Discovering a town through information and culture

Town signs and signals are an important characterising feature of our cities. Of the various types of sign, environmental and tourism signs are decisive in helping users to make choices: the shape of signs, their position and type of message they project provide some of the many ways in which the offer, i.e. consumption or culture, can be read and interpreted.

The second part of the issue tackles the theme of a possible partial recovery of some coastal areas, too “used up” by tourism, which now seem extinct from a landscape point of view, and devoid of identity.
