N°2 | 2003 NEW EXHIBITION SET-UP
The Italian Museum of Cast Iron in Longiano

Let there be light: from oil to ubiquitos gas in the nineteenth-century

The vastness of the collection and the desire to present these valued artefacts to the public were the reasons behind the new exhibition set-up for the Italian Museum of Cast Iron based in the Borough of Longiano (Church of Santa Maria delle Lacrime).

The theme of light, characterised by candelabra of extraordinary workmanship from large Italian and foreign cities, sits alongside that of water, with column and mask fountains.

In addition, an extensive collection of door knockers, shown in all their opulence and creativity, bears witness to how the public and the private were equally relevant in the urban landscape.
